Experienced cybersecurity leaders focused on your success
With decades in the industry, our leadership, advisors and board bring all of their cybersecurity expertise to the table to add value to our clients, vendors, and partners.
Chief Executive Officer
Chris brings extensive sales and executive experience to Defy from both a partner and OEM perspective. Over two decades, he’s built strong relationships with global enterprise customers and led global sales teams at Check Point Software, Blue Coat Systems, Optiv and Accuvant.
When he’s not spending time with his family in the mountains or at the beach, Chris most often can be found on the links—and occasionally on the soccer field.
“More and more companies are getting breached, even though spending on cybersecurity is at an all-time high. Something’s wrong. Companies need to overcome the status quo and prove that they aren’t the problem — they’re part of the solution. “
Founder & President
In founding Defy, Justin brings over a decade of experience, working with some of the world’s largest financial institutions and enterprise customers while building strong relationships within the CISO community. He led the way at Accuvant and Optiv as the top performer by helping clients strategize for the future, and support their teams’ initiatives. His total focus on customers’ success grew Defy into what it is today.
Justin’s four children and wife keep him happy and busy when he’s out of the office. He also spends time serving his community and volunteering.
“I love becoming an extension of our customers’ team and showing them the real value of trust, transparency and integrity. Doing the right thing for them is the true heart of what we do.”
Chief Financial Officer
David Roshak has more than 25 years of financial and operational leadership experience in the tech arena. As Optiv’s CFO, he was responsible for major mergers and acquisitions, strategic initiatives, and managing all financial activities leading up to Optiv’s sale to KKR in 2017 for $1.9 billion.
David enjoys spending time with his three adult children, camping off-grid, and competing in Ironman races.
“Companies of all sizes face the increasingly complex task of securing their systems, business applications and sensitive data. Defy’s agile business model and focus on exceeding client expectations has been key to our rapid growth.”
A Defy co-founder and 16-year veteran of the IT industry, Jeremy has substantial experience in internal operations, having held direct management roles in client operations and sales support at Optiv and Accuvant. He’s built the company’s operations department from the ground up.
Jeremy lives in his hometown of Buffalo, where he claims to love even the winters. When he’s not doting on his wife and young daughters, he’s usually watching live music or playing guitar.
“Defy is the best of both worlds for our clients. We have a boutique feel and a customer-first approach, combined with a wealth of expertise and experience behind us. That’s exactly what was needed in the marketplace.”
Vice President, Sales
Jason brings to Defy more than 20 years of sales leadership experience in the technology and information security industries. He attributes much of his success to his long-term, trusted relationships with clients, business partners and manufacturers at companies like CyCognito, ProtectWise, and Optiv.
At home in southern California, Jason’s first priority is his family. Weekends are filled with soccer and basketball games, and, time permitting, barbecuing on his Big Green Egg.
“Defy filters out the noise of the 1,000s of cyber vendors and focuses on what’s most important: mitigating the risk of our customers for the short- and long-term. Doing this with premier customer service and integrity is how we defy the status quo.”
